Marking
The old tank container marking was 22T6 20 ft 6”. The new marking is 22K2 and 22KD, introduced by the Convention for Safe Containers.
Old tank container marking:
22T6 20 ft 6”
New marking:
22K2
- Tank container for dangerous goods
- Minimum pressure 6 bar
- Full stacking
22KD
- Tank containers for dangerous goods
- Minimum pressure 6 bar
- Reduced stacking
The CSC (Convention for Safe Containers) requires the new marking of tank containers because containers are built with an allowable stacking weight of less than 192,000 kg. Most tank containers will be designed for 192,000 kg, but some older containers may be below that limit.
